What to Expect in Our Sessions
initial intake appointment (first session)
Your first session will look a little different than the ones that follow. It’s more structured and focused on gathering information—I’ll ask you some questions about your background, previous mental health experiences, what’s bringing you to therapy now, and what you're hoping to work on. This gives me a fuller picture of your experiences and helps us begin to identify areas to focus on—but there’s no pressure to dive into everything at once. We’ll go at whatever pace feels right for you.
ongoing sessions
After the intake, our sessions are much more relaxed and guided by whatever feels most important to you that week. I take a person-centered approach, so you’re free to bring in whatever’s on your mind—whether it's a stressful situation, a relationship issue, or just a feeling you can’t quite name. Together we will explore relationship dynamics, manage work or school stress, and begin to notice and understand patterns that show up in your life. No topic is too small or too big. If you're ever feeling stuck or unsure what to focus on, we can always revisit the goals you set early on to guide the conversation. Therapy is your space, and I’m here to support you in whatever way you need—judgment-free, collaborative, and caring.
